Title: Eye-tracking: From static to dynamic stimuli

Abstract:

Eye-tracking has a proven record of success as an online measurement for static stimuli such as reading tasks. In our talk we address and discuss some of the problems that we face when tracking eye movements using dynamic stimuli. The short clips employed in our project feature everyday situations and are used in language production research in a number of different languages. We illustrate our approach in the actual cross-linguistic research environment focusing on the definition of areas of interest and data analysis. We demonstrate the applied procedure step by step on our apparatus: EyeFollower (LC Technologies & Interactive Minds, Dresden).
